The Alley of Classics of Moldovan literature is a sculptural complex in the park named after Stephen the Great. On the both sides of the central alley on the pedestals of red polished granite, the bronze busts of writers, public figures and statesmen are set up. The alley became the favourite place of rest of Kishinev inhabitans and visitors.

Nicolae Milescu-Spataru is a Moldovan scientist, statesman of Moldova and Russia, writer and diplomatist. Its main work was the diplomatic mission in China. The bust was erected in 1957 (sculptor L. Averbukh).

Vasile Alexandri
(1821 - 1890)

Vasile Alexandri is a classic of Moldovan literature, publicist and folklore collector. He was in chage of many progressive journals and newspapers. Vasile Alexandri was one of the leaders of the revolutionary movement of 1948 in Moldovan principality. He was one of the first collectors and the first publisher of the Moldovan folklore. The bust was mounted in 1957 (sculptor L. Dubinovsky).

Bogdan Petriceiku Hajdau
(1838 - 1907)

A classic of Moldovan literature, historian, linguist, specialist in folklore. Fundamental works in the field of filology, Slavonic and folklore studies were issued from his pen. The bust was placed in 1957 (sculptor I. Kaptanaru).

Konstantin Stamati
(1786 - 1869)

Konstantin Stamati is a Moldovan writer, scientist, publicist. Various aspects of his time were reflected in his fables, poems and articles. The bust was put in 1957 (sculptor L. Fitov).

Constantin Stere is a politician, writer and ideologist. The bust was put in 1991 (sculptor G. Dubrovin).

Alexei Matievici

Alexei Matievici is a Moldovan poet and publicist. His world view and creation was considerably influenced by the revolutionary events of the beginning of the XX century in Moscow, Russian revolutionary democrats, from whom he took democratism, love to people, belief in progress.
