Mazarache Church

This is the monument of architecture and the most ancient construction of the city. It was built in 1752. The style is the old Moldovan one. It is protected by the state. For the time being, it continues functioning.






St. Constantin and Elena Church

This church is the monument of architecture; it was built in 1977. The architectural composition dates from old Moldovan churches. It continues functioning.





Armenian church

A pattern of the Moldovan architecture is Armenian Church, built in Kishinev in 1803 by the Armenian community. The building of the church with the back rooms is the architectural ensemble. This church is protected by the state.





Annunciation Church

It is the monument of architecture. It was built in 1807-1810 in the place of a wooden church. It represents a typical Moldovan religious construction. A.S. Pushkin during his deportation to Bessarabia frequently come here. This church is protected by the state.





St. George Church

It staggers with its strictness. The church front and bell-tower are decorated with flat pilasters, cornice of intricate profile and pediments. The church was built for money of the Moldovan and Bulgarian population of the city. The date of its erection is still obscure. There is an opinion, that the building was constructed in the XVII century.






Roman Catholic Church

It was built in 1840 in the style of Russian classisim with details of Ionic order in the front. The building was restored in the middle of 1970s.






St. Tiron Cathedral (Ciuflea Church)

St. Fedor Tiron church was built on the former Ciuflea square by "efforts of merchant Ciuflea". It is protected by the state. This church continues functioning.






Chapel, built in honour of Bulgarian militiamen

A remarkable monument of the XIX-century Moldovan  monumental architecture is a small memorial complex - the obelisk and the chapel, erected in Bulgarian Militiamen Square.

St. Panteleimon Curch

St. Panteleimon Curch is a very interesting monument of the architecture of the end of XIX century; it is projected by A.O. Bernardazzi. The building is erected in the new Byzantine style, according to many sources.




St. Teodora from Sihla Church

It was built in 1885, the architect is A.O. Bernardazzi. The first floor is realised as the ancient Russian porch and the second one is like a chamber. The decoration of the chapel is rich: the walls are made from two-colour blocks of limestone, arch embrasures, columns, cornice, cast-iron gratings are beautifully ornamented.
